Blue Winged Macaw

Range: The Amazon, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina.

Conservation Status: Endangered

Habitat: Deciduous and evergreen forest, prefers to be near water.

Diet: Mainly seeds and fruit.

Other Information: Macaws are known to eat clay as an antidote to the poisonous seeds they eat. Scientists have found out that the chemicals in clay mix with the poison allowing to pass through the bird's digestive system unharmed.
